And now we hear why God invented the bari sax. I’ll say this, though, that the biggest problem I have with jazz is that it always sounds like they’re just making it up. (rimshot)

I’ve got a ton of respect for people who can solo well. It’s never been part of my idiom. My brain just doesn’t work that way.

Same here. I’ve tried solo a lot and it’s just too hard, even though jass, by definition, is made up.

Probably, they’re one of very few pro big bands left. I’m biased towards them because I’ve played with some of them.
